Church History

In the early part of 2007, my wife Bea felt a need to meet with some friends for prayer. She, Karen Ison and Debra Prock began to meet and pray. From this prayer time came a prompting for us to pray about starting a church.

In early May, while on vacation with our son, daughter-in-law and grandson, we decided to pray earnestly about the direction God would have us go. During this time of prayer and seeking the Lord, He put a burden on my heart for those who were not attending church.

As Bea was seeking His leading, He started to deal with her that, people’s hearts needed to be changed and turned to the Lord. We continued to seek His will for us during the summer, but it didn’t seem as if we were moving forward.

As we began to feel that He did want us to start a church, we started to seek council from some trusted friends. God made it clear that this was the direction He wanted to take us. Still it was not coming together, but the thought, that He wanted us to start a church, would not leave us.

In early November, we along with six close friends ,visited Pastor Kelly and Trace Floyd at City Harvest Church, in Burlington Kentucky. During the service the Lord was fanning the flames for a return to the ministry.

Shortly after we then started to explore the possibility of starting a church. The Lord began to move in our hearts and spirits and Heart changing Ministries was birthed on December 30, 2007.

Our first meeting was officially in March of 2008 at the Super 8 Motel in Avon Indiana, moving from there to our present location in Avon in May of 2008.

On a personal note, I would like to thank my wife Bea for not only supporting me, but also being an active partner in the ministry.

We would like to thank all who have supported us and encouraged us. May we serve the Lord together and with all He will add to our body, as we work together to Change Hearts, Change lives, and Change the World!

Ecclesiastes 3:1 “to everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.”

May this be our season.
